SPRING IS ALMOST HERE!

It is the beginning of March and that means spring will be here before we know it. For us, that means it will be the busiest part of the year.

When spring starts rolling in, we start performing the 4DX blood tests that screen for Heartworm, Lyme’s Disease and two other tick born diseases. (Find more information about the test by clicking here- 4DX Blog.) It is also the time of year when everyone needs to start picking up their heartworm, flea and tick preventatives. Because of how many extra appointments we need to see, our schedule can get pretty booked up.

This where Vanessa, our licensed veterinary technician, comes in.

Vanessa has been working here since 2015 and was licensed in 2016. She attended the Rochester Community and Technical College in Minnesota and obtained her LVT degree.
As a licensed veterinary technician, she assists the veterinarians with their outpatient and inpatient procedures. Vanessa is involved with surgical preparation of patients, and monitors them while they are under anesthesia. She administers medications, performs routine dental cleanings and a variety of laboratory tests. She also sees her own patients. Vanessa can perform yearly physicals, routine vaccines (all except Rabies), nail trims, anal glands, laser therapy and 4DX tests!

Beginning in March, when you call to set up your dogs 4Dx appointment, you might be offered an appointment with Vanessa. This will hopefully leave some room in the doctors schedules for emergency cases that often arise during the day. It also means we will be able to get you and your dog in sooner!

Of course, you always have the option of seeing your dogs veterinarian but if you don’t have the time to wait to see them, we want you to have other great options available!

We look forward to seeing all of our patients this spring! See you soon!
